NEW RALEIGH STAFFING BUSINESS BOOMING DESPITE SLOW ECONOMY
Raleigh, North Carolina
July 28, 2008

A slow economy has proved to be a perfect time to start a company for Raleigh businessman Shane Hill, whose recently opened staffing firm, Org-Chart Solutions, is thriving in just its third month.

Hill, an experienced staffing professional with 16 years in the business, opened Org-Chart Solutions, after spending the past 11 years in the Raleigh temporary staffing market, including the past four at Hudson Highland Group.

His firm, which specializes in the placement of accounting and finance professionals on a temporary or as-needed basis, benefits from what Hill describes as a business philosophy based on local knowledge and trust.

"The Raleigh temporary staffing market is composed of experienced business professionals and an influx of relocating talent, not to mention a very strong scholastic base within the RDU area. People contact me when they need to hire someone because I have excellent candidates and have built a trust base after 11 years of doing business here," said Hill. "I know a lot of people in this town and I am happy to use my contacts to help both the client and the candidate."

Hill has seen an upswing in demand for as-needed staff during this economic downturn, as businesses turn to temporary help to meet their needs. Temporary help, he says, provides a cost-effective staffing alternative, and brings fresh perspectives to a company without the burden of long-term commitments. "In staffing it is always about the candidates you are placing. If you have good candidates you can always find demand for them, and we have built up the best possible network of talented candidates in the region."

A native of Oklahoma City who graduated from the University of Oklahoma, Hill started his first staffing firm right out of college, eventually selling it after four years and moving east to Raleigh. He worked at staffing industry giant Robert Half International for five years before leaving to open his own firm, Trio, in Raleigh. He eventually sold his firm to Hudson Highland and then worked for them for four years before opening Org-Chart solutions in May. His business runs under the auspices of Microtech Staffing Group of Quincy, Massachusetts, whose President, Joe Donahue, describes Hill as "one of the very best staffing business talents in the country."

In his spare time, Hill has been actively involved in charitable work, including a program he has publicly and financially supported for the past four years called "The Angel Tree," which provides book bags and Christmas gifts for children on the south side of Raleigh. This year, more than 120 children, many from the Walnut Terrace public housing development, received gifts. Hill also meets each year with students who are graduating from local community colleges to help advise them on how best to prepare for entry into the local workforce. He is also active in the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

"I believe that Raleigh with its Research Triangle Park, and North Carolina, with its educational institutions and pro-business outlook, are poised to thrive economically in the years to come," said Hill. "We happen to be in a perfect position to support that growth through our skilled temporary employees and our local contact knowledge for full-time employees as well."
